Part-Time Peer Mentor, Outreach-State
This position involves mentoring and advising students about higher education at participating institutions of higher education or local high schools. Mentors will provide information to high school students at events such as College Nights and FAFSA Saturdays. They are expected to provide high-level information, interact with students one-on-one, and manage a high volume of customer interactions. The role requires working with diverse groups.

- Providing general information related to the department
- Maintaining inventory
- Preparing and supporting events
- Collecting and recording data

- Providing limited technology support to end users

- Maintaining and processing records
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Currently enrolled Lone Star student pursuing a course of study

- Working knowledge of general office procedures and practices

Physical Abilities
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
Work Schedule and Conditions
The work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards.
Salary and Benefits
