Part Time Patient Customer Service Representative

About the role

As our Customer Service Representative in Patient Registration, you’ll help patients check into the hospital. You’ll collect information accurately and quickly while listening with compassion to address their fears, concerns, and questions. This role is fast-paced and requires comfort with technology, multitasking, and interacting with patients who may be ill or worried. No prior healthcare experience is needed—we’ll teach you everything you need to know, making this an ideal starting point for a healthcare career.

You must be up to date on all vaccinations, pass a drug test, and pass a background check prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Work on computers and answer phones to intake patient information in a busy environment, navigating multiple screens and programs.
• Collect accurate details during physician and nurse check-ins, typing quickly and efficiently.
• Assist patients who may be ill or anxious, building rapport and easing their concerns through active listening and follow-up questions.
• Handle interruptions from clinicians for emergent clinical care while maintaining workflow.
• Work on your feet in a fast-paced environment, adapting to variations in health plans and patient needs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Excellent customer service experience.
• Comfort with technology, multitasking, and typing in a dynamic setting.

Preferred Skills

• Medical experience (not required).

Pay

For this US-based position, the base pay range is $16.00 - $21.10 per hour. Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
