Part Time Overnight Individual and Home Support

About the role

Assisting Consumers in a variety of ways to enable them to live independently in their community.

Responsibilities

• ADL Tasks: Cleaning, bathroom tasks, laundry, meal prep/cooking, shopping, adaptive equipment usage.
• Administer and take daily medications.
• Work with Consumer to plan weekly menus, create grocery lists, and encourage healthy choices.
• Replace household supplies from local stores.
• Use Hoyer lifts, motorized wheelchairs, adjustable beds, and automatic door openers.
• Report all suspected incidents of consumer sexual abuse, physical abuse, and neglect to the Disabled Person Protection Commission (DPPC).
• Update task sheets and communicate with supervisor.

Requirements

• PCA and IHS experience required.
• Hoyer lift experience required.
• Two-day orientation in Stoughton office.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must report all suspected incidents of consumer sexual/physical abuse and neglect to the DPPC.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designee.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• CPR / First Aid Certification.

• Familiarity with community services.
• Ability to understand and implement independent living philosophy.
• Ability to relate and empathize with people who have disabilities.
• Resourcefulness to solve complex issues.
• Objective report writing.

Pay

$20 per hour on Thursdays and Fridays, 12am to 6am every other week, 12 hours over two weeks.

Schedule

Part-time overnight position with some awake and asleep periods.
