About the role
Westside Optometry in Petaluma, California, is seeking a part-time optometrist to join a long-standing and trusted practice. The role offers the opportunity to support the practice as its associate doctor of 29 years prepares to retire at the end of summer 2026.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive eye exams and personalized care for a diverse patient base
- Diagnose and treat eye conditions
- Prescribe corrective lenses and treatment plans
- Provide pre- and post-operative care
- Educate patients on long-term eye health
- Work in a well-equipped, high-tech practice with digital refracting lanes, anterior and posterior segment photography, topography, HARK, OCT, and virtual visual fields
- Support 1.5 days per week, with flexibility to grow to 2 days or more
Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited school
- Licensure to practice in California
- Therapeutic certification
- Strong clinical skills in comprehensive eye exams, diagnostic sing, treatment planning, and prescribing corrective lenses
- Detail-oriented, collaborative, and committed to continuous learning
- Experience in a clinical or retail optometry setting is a plus
Qualifications
- Optometry license in the state of California
- PREFERRED: Specialties in Dry Eye, Myopia management, and Scleral contact lenses
