Part-Time Optometrist (Reading Eye Associates) - Reading, MA

About the role
This is a one-day-per-week position (Monday, Tuesday, or Friday, 9:30 AM–5:00 PM) at Reading Eye Associates in Reading, MA. The optometrist will perform comprehensive eye exams, diagnose and treat vision disorders, manage eye diseases, and prescribe corrective lenses or treatments. The role includes educating patients on maintaining optimal eye health, collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals, and maintaining accurate medical records.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive vision assessments and eye examinations
- Detect, diagnose, and treat vision disorders and eye diseases
- Prescribe corrective lenses, therapeutic treatments, and medications as needed
- Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and treatment plans
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver integrated patient care
- Maintain precise, up-to-date medical records and documentation
Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited program
- Active Massachusetts optometry license
- Strong clinical skills in vision assessment, refraction, and ocular disease management
- Proficiency in patient education and communication
- Commitment to continuing education and staying current with advancements in eye care
- Prior experience in optometry practice or clinical settings is preferred
