Part-Time Optician

About the role

Binyon Vision Center is seeking a Part-Time Optician to join their team in Burien, WA.

Responsibilities

• Guide patients in finding eyewear that matches their look, lifestyle, and personality.
• Recommend the latest lens technology and adjust frames with precision.
• Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and proper eyewear care.
• Place, verify, and receive eyewear orders; inspect finished glasses for accuracy and quality.
• Adjust, repair, and maintain eyeglasses and frames as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of current optical products, styles, and trends.
• Ensure accurate patient records and process insurance benefits.
• Provide outstanding customer service by addressing patient concerns and questions.
• Support the overall efficiency of the practice by collaborating with doctors and staff.

Requirements

• LDO or ABO certified OR 3+ years of experience working as an Optician required.
• Knowledge of optical terminology, eyewear materials, and lens technology is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
• Professional, upbeat, positive, and punctual.
• Desire to learn new skills and cross train as needed.
• Passionate about providing exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

Competitive salary of $23.00-$30.00 per hour based on education and experience.

Part-time schedule of approximately 16–24 hours per week.

The primary schedule will be Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the possibility of one additional weekday.

Our office is open Monday–Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Thursday–Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. No weekends required.
