Position Summary
The Part Time Office Assistant is responsible for maintaining, performing, and assisting with a variety of clerical duties to support the EDS program in the day-to-day operations. This position provides primary support to technical education programs that are offered during day sessions.
Essential Job Duties
- Perform receptionist tasks, answers the telephone, greets students, employees, and visitors, and directs them to the appropriate office or person.
- Maintain a pleasant and positive attitude toward all students, faculty, staff & visitors.
- Aid full-time faculty & staff with various projects when asked.
- Work with EDS program applicants to collect application items, assist with tours, and provide requested information.
- Maintain and update variety of resources for Technical Programs Director – Lebanon Education Center.
- Aid instructors with the operation of office equipment (copiers, fax machine, Scantron, etc.).
- Assist with incoming mail and deliveries to faculty and staff.
- Demonstrate professional conduct, positive attitude, and supportive culture.
- Exercise initiative and assesses work load, prioritize work flow, and use independent judgement.
- Maintain confidentiality of students, parents/guardians, and fellow staff members, as well as records and all information.
- Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
- Comply with college policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Prior customer service experience and working with the public.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to use information technology for professional productivity.
- Self-starter able to manage various tasks as needed.
Preferred Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
- Experience with Colleague.
- Experience working within a collegiate setting.
- Experience with selective admission programs.
- Experience with or knowledge of the power distribution field.
