Part-Time Nutrition Assistant

About the role

The Nutrition Assistant provides high-quality, personalized nutritional care to patients, supporting meal delivery, dietary adjustments, and dietary education.

Responsibilities

• Assisting patients with menu choices within diet restrictions
• Ensuring patients receive nourishment and notifying RNs of any issues
• Supporting meal set-up, menu completion, and tray assessments
• Communicating with clinical and production teams regarding patient needs
• Following department procedures for ordering nutrition support products
• Upholding hospital and department policies

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; experience accepted in lieu
• Healthcare experience and customer service skills preferred
• Ability to handle multiple phone lines, basic computer skills, and effective communication
• Physical ability to perform tasks involving standing, walking, lifting, and other movements
• Strong interpersonal skills and adherence to standards
