Part Time Nurse LPN

Community Medical Services (CMS) is urgently hiring a Nurse to administer medication to patients recovering from addictions to opioids and other illicit substances. The dosing nurse works under the supervision of the Clinic Manager to conduct required testing, maintain medication inventory, audit records, and assist medical providers in providing a safe place for individuals beginning their recovery journey.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications as ordered/prescribed by a CMS medical provider.
• Monitor behavioral, medical, and physical symptoms related to dosage, drug use, and mental health concerns.
• Obtain vital signs, blood specimens, and urine samples.
• Process point‑of‑care urine drug screens per company policy.
• Prepare take‑home medication (n/a in Montana).
• Monitor medication administration closely to prevent diversion and report diversion to internal authorities.
• Maintain accurate client records in the company’s EHR system.
• Document medication errors and respond to adverse medical reactions per company policy.
• Arrange temporary incoming and outgoing courtesy dosing clients.
• Deliver medications to external facilities.
• Order necessary dosing room and nursing‑related supplies.
• Maintain accurate medication inventory records.
• Adhere to all federal, state, local, and accrediting‑body regulations.
• Administer CPR if necessary.

Requirements

• Licensed LPN or RN in the state of employment.
• CPR certification required.
• Ability to travel to assigned CMS sites.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle clearance (minimum 39‑month driving record).
• Reliable transportation.
• Experience in substance‑use‑disorder field preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of signs of intoxication and opioid withdrawal symptoms.
• Demonstrated accuracy in medication administration and record‑keeping.

Schedule

Monday and Tuesday 4:00 AM – 12:00 PM; Saturday 5:30 AM – 9:30 AM (rotations with other nurses possible). May cover Kingman clinic for PTO support.
