Part Time Merchandiser - Valparaiso, IN

About the role

American Greetings is seeking a Merchandiser to help showcase our product in various retail locations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and time management skills to ensure product displays and inventory levels are maintained.

Responsibilities

• Service stores on your assigned route, including merchandising and organizing product orders
• Display product within greeting card departments and other retail locations
• Maintain an organized backroom area
• Other inventory tasks as needed
• Communicate with management about service or schedule issues
• Utilize effective time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced retail environment
• Partner and build relationships with retail store associates and management during daytime business hours
• Occasionally assist with store resets, including minor fixture work, product assembly, relocation, or removal as requested
• Review and plan weekly service schedule and workload using a company-issued tablet

Requirements

• No prior experience necessary, training provided
• Must be 18 years or older
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
• Access to reliable transportation and internet
• Technological competency to use company-issued tablet for training and daily activities
• Meet scheduling needs, including weekends and major holiday periods

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay and Schedule

The starting pay is $14.40 per hour with increases to $15.20 after 6 months and $16.00 after 1 year. Flexible work scheduling is offered. We provide paid training and a 401(k) with company match.

Schedule

The weekly average hours are 6 hours per week, which may increase to an average of 15 hours per week around holidays. Ideal candidates should be available during daytime hours and specifically Monday mornings.

Physical Demands

You will be working on the sales floor and backstock room. You must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry cartons, merchandise, and fixtures of up to 40 pounds throughout the workday. Standing, walking, stooping, and squatting are also required. A stepstool may be used for some tasks.
