Part Time Merchandiser - Thompsons Station, TN
About the role
As a Merchandiser with American Greetings, you play a crucial part in our mission to help people celebrate holidays, each other, and all of life's special moments. You'll showcase your organizational and time management skills by displaying and maintaining inventory levels of our celebrations products, including greeting cards, gift wrap accessories, party goods, plush, and more.
Responsibilities
- Service stores on your assigned route, including merchandising and organizing product orders
- Display product within greeting card departments and other retail locations
- Maintain an organized backroom area
- Other inventory tasks as needed
- Communicate with management about service or schedule issues
- Utilize effective time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced retail environment
- Partner and build relationships with retail store associates and management during daytime business hours
- Occasionally assist with store resets, including minor fixture work, product assembly, relocation, or removal
- Review and plan your weekly service schedule and workload using a company-issued tablet
Requirements
- 18 years or older
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Access to reliable transportation and internet
- Technological competency to use a company-issued tablet for training and daily activities
- Meet scheduling needs, including occasional weekends, the day before and after major holidays
Qualifications
- The ability to work independently and on a team
- No prior experience necessary, as training will be provided
Pay and Schedule
The starting pay is $13.10 per hour with increases to $13.80 after 6 months and $14.50 after 1 year. Flexible work scheduling is offered. We provide paid training and a 401(k) with company match.
Schedule
The weekly average hours are 6 hours, which may increase to 15 hours around holidays.
Physical Demands
You will be working on the sales floor and backstock room. You must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 40 pounds, stand, walk, stoop, and squat throughout the workday. A stepstool may be used for some tasks.
