Part Time Merchandiser - Newton, KS

About the role

Work independently across various retail locations, showcasing your organization and time-management skills to display and maintain inventory levels of greeting cards, gift wrap, party goods, plush, and related products.

Responsibilities

• Service stores on your assigned route: merchandise and organize product orders, display product in greeting-card departments and other retail areas, maintain organized backroom spaces, and perform other inventory tasks as needed.
• Communicate with management regarding service or scheduling questions or concerns.
• Work in a fast-paced retail environment using effective time-management and organizational skills.
• Partner and build relationships with retail store associates and management during daytime business hours.
• Be available for additional working days and extended hours leading up to and immediately following major holidays.
• Provide occasional assistance with store resets, including minor fixture work, product assembly, relocation, or removal as requested.
• Review and plan your weekly service schedule and workload in assigned stores using a company-issued tablet.

Requirements

• 18 years or older.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Access to reliable transportation (most routes cover multiple retail locations).
• Access to reliable internet to receive critical job information and updates.
• Technological competency—able to learn and use a company-provided tablet for training and daily tasks.
• Meet scheduling needs—occasional weekends and the day before/after major holidays (e.g., Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas).

Physical Demands

• Work on the sales floor and in back stock rooms.
• Push, pull, lift, and carry cartons, merchandise, and fixtures of up to 40 pounds throughout the sales floor and backrooms.
• Stand, walk, stoop, and squat throughout the workday; a stepstool may be used for some tasks.

Pay

Starting pay is $12.20 per hour with two increases during the first year of employment (rates subject to change based on work location). After 6 months, the pay rate increases to $12.90; after 1 year, it increases to $13.50.

This route services retail locations at 1216 N Main St, Newton, KS, 67114 and 1410 S Kansas Ave. Weekly average hours are 5 hours per week, increasing to an average of 15 hours per week around holidays.
