Part Time Merchandiser - Baytown, TX

About the role

American Greetings is seeking a Merchandiser to help showcase our celebrations products in various retail locations. The role involves merchandising and organizing product displays, maintaining inventory levels, and providing customer service.

Responsibilities

• Service stores on your assigned route, including merchandising and organizing product orders
• Display product within greeting card departments and other retail locations
• Maintain an organized backroom area
• Other inventory tasks as needed
• Communicate with management about service or schedule issues
• Utilize effective time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced retail environment
• Partner and build relationships with retail store associates and management during daytime business hours
• Occasionally assist with store resets, including minor fixture work, product assembly, relocation, or removal as requested
• Review and plan weekly service schedule and workload using a company-issued tablet

Requirements

• 18 years or older
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
• Access to reliable transportation and internet
• Technological competency to use a company-issued tablet for training and daily activities
• Meet scheduling needs, including occasional weekends, the day before and after major holidays

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay and Schedule

The starting pay is $13.50 per hour with increases to $14.30 after 6 months and $15.00 after 1 year. Flexible work scheduling is offered. We provide paid training and a 401(k) with company match.

Schedule

The weekly average hours are 5 hours per week, which may increase to an average of 14 hours per week around holidays.

Physical Demands

You will be working on the sales floor and backstock room. You must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry merchandise and fixtures up to 40 pounds, stand, walk, stoop, and squat throughout the workday. A stepstool may be used to complete some tasks.
