Part Time Merchandiser - Austin, TX

About the role

American Greetings is a global leader in the Celebrations marketplace. As a Merchandiser you help people celebrate holidays and special moments by displaying and maintaining inventory of greeting cards, gift‑wrap accessories, party goods, plush and more across various retail locations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Service stores on assigned route, merchandising and organizing product orders, displaying product within greeting‑card departments and other retail locations.
• Maintain an organized backroom area and perform other inventory tasks as needed.
• Communicate with management about service or schedule questions or concerns.
• Work in a fast‑paced retail environment utilizing effective time‑management and organizational skills.
• Partner and build relationships with retail store associates and management during daytime retail business hours.
• Provide occasional assistance with store resets, including minor fixture work, product assembly, relocation, or removal.
• Review and plan weekly service schedule and workload using a company‑issued tablet.
• Work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Access to reliable transportation for multiple retail locations.
• Access to reliable internet to receive critical job information and updates.
• Technological competency – able to learn and use a company‑provided tablet for training and daily tasks.
• Availability for occasional weekends and the day before/after major holidays (e.g., Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas).
• Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, squat, and handle fixtures up to 40 pounds; use of a stepstool as needed.

Pay

Starting pay is $14.40 per hour with two scheduled increases: after 6 months the rate rises to $15.20, and after 1 year to $16.00. Rates are subject to change based on work location.

Schedule

The weekly average is 7 hours, increasing to an average of 15 hours around holidays. Occasional weekend work and extended hours are required leading up to and immediately following major holidays.
