Part Time Merchandiser

About the role

American Greetings is a global leader in the Celebrations marketplace. As a Merchandiser, you help people celebrate holidays and special moments by displaying and maintaining inventory of greeting cards, gift wrap accessories, party goods, plush, and more across assigned retail locations.

Responsibilities

• Service stores on assigned route, including merchandising and organizing product orders
• Display product within greeting card departments and other retail locations
• Maintain organized backroom areas
• Communicate with management any questions or concerns regarding service or schedules
• Work in a fast‑paced retail environment utilizing effective time management and organizational skills
• Partner and build relationships with retail store associates and management during daytime business hours
• Provide occasional assistance with store resets (minor fixture work, product assembly, relocation, or removal)
• Review and plan weekly service schedule and workload using a company‑issued tablet
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Requirements

• 18 years or older
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
• Access to reliable transportation (multiple retail locations)
• Access to reliable internet to receive critical job information and updates
• Technological competency – able to learn and use company‑provided tablet for training and daily tasks
• Meet scheduling needs – occasional weekends, the day before and after major holidays as needed (e.g., Valentine's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas)
• Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry cartons, merchandise, and fixtures of up to 40 pounds throughout the sales floor and backrooms
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, and squat throughout the workday; a stepstool may be used
• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties

Pay

The starting pay is $11.70 per hour. After 6 months of employment the rate increases to $12.40 per hour, and after 1 year of continued employment the rate increases to $13.00 per hour. Rates are subject to change based on work location.

Schedule

The weekly average is 8 hours per week, which may increase to an average of 17 hours per week around holidays. Ideal availability includes daytime hours, specifically Monday mornings due to store needs.
