Part Time Merchandiser

About the Role

American Greetings is a global leader in the celebrations marketplace. As a Merchandiser you will help people celebrate holidays, each other, and life’s special moments by displaying and maintaining inventory of greeting cards, gift‑wrap accessories, party goods, plush items, and more across various retail locations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Service stores on your assigned route, including merchandising and organizing product orders.
• Display product within greeting‑card departments and other retail locations.
• Maintain organized back‑room areas and perform other inventory tasks as needed.
• Communicate with management about service or schedule questions or concerns.
• Work in a fast‑paced retail environment using effective time‑management and organizational skills.
• Partner with retail store associates and management during daytime business hours.
• Provide occasional assistance with store resets, including minor fixture work, product assembly, relocation, or removal.
• Review and plan your weekly service schedule and workload using a company‑issued tablet.
• Work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Access to reliable transportation (multiple retail locations per route).
• Access to reliable internet for receiving job information and updates.
• Technological competency – able to learn and use a company‑provided tablet.
• Availability for occasional weekends and the day before/after major holidays (e.g., Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas).

Physical Demands

• Work on the sales floor and in back‑stock rooms.
• Push, pull, lift, and carry cartons, merchandise, and fixtures up to 40 pounds.
• Stand, walk, stoop, and squat throughout the workday; a stepstool may be used for some tasks.
• Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Pay

Starting pay is $13.50 per hour. After 6 months the rate increases to $14.30, and after 1 year it increases to $15.00. Rates are subject to change based on work location.

Schedule

The route services retail locations at 310 1st Ave S, Jamestown, ND 58401; 2400 8th Ave SW; and 424 4th Ave NE. Average hours are 3 hours per week, increasing to about 5 hours per week around holidays. Flexible work scheduling is offered, with occasional weekend and holiday‑adjacent shifts as needed.
