Part Time Merchandiser

About the role

American Greetings is a global leader in the Celebrations marketplace. As a Merchandiser you will help people celebrate holidays, each other, and life’s special moments by displaying and maintaining inventory levels of greeting cards, gift‑wrap accessories, party goods, plush items, and more across various retail locations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Service stores on your assigned route, merchandising and organizing product orders.
• Display product within greeting‑card departments and other retail areas.
• Maintain organized back‑room areas and perform other inventory tasks as needed.
• Communicate with management about service questions or schedule concerns.
• Work in a fast‑paced retail environment using effective time‑management and organizational skills.
• Partner with retail store associates and management during daytime business hours.
• Provide occasional assistance with store resets, including minor fixture work, product assembly, relocation, or removal.
• Review and plan your weekly service schedule and workload using a company‑issued tablet.
• Work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Access to reliable transportation for multiple retail locations.
• Access to reliable internet for receiving critical job information and updates.
• Technological competency – able to learn and use a company‑provided tablet.
• Availability for occasional weekends and the day before/after major holidays (e.g., Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas).
• No prior experience required – paid training provided.

Pay

Starting pay is $14.00 per hour with two scheduled increases: after 6 months the rate rises to $14.80, and after 1 year it rises to $15.50. Rates are subject to change based on work location.

Schedule

The weekly average is 6 hours, increasing to an average of 16 hours per week around holidays. Flexible work scheduling is offered, with occasional weekend and holiday‑adjacent shifts as needed. The route services the following retail locations:
