Part Time Merchandiser

American Greetings is a global leader in the celebrations marketplace. As a Merchandiser you will help people celebrate holidays, each other, and life’s special moments by displaying and maintaining inventory of greeting cards, gift‑wrap accessories, party goods, plush items, and more across multiple retail locations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Service stores on your assigned route, merchandising and organizing product orders.
• Display products within greeting‑card departments and other retail areas.
• Maintain organized back‑room areas and perform other inventory tasks as needed.
• Communicate with management about service questions or schedule concerns.
• Work in a fast‑paced retail environment using effective time‑management and organizational skills.
• Partner with retail store associates and management during daytime business hours.
• Provide occasional assistance with store resets, including minor fixture work, product assembly, relocation, or removal.
• Review and plan your weekly service schedule and workload using a company‑issued tablet.
• Work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lb (with or without reasonable accommodation).
• Access to reliable transportation for multiple retail locations.
• Access to reliable internet for receiving job information and updates.
• Technological competency – able to learn and use a company‑provided tablet.
• Availability for occasional weekends and extended hours before and after major holidays (e.g., Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas).

Physical Demands

• Work on sales floor and back‑stock room.
• Push, pull, lift, and carry cartons, merchandise, and fixtures up to 40 lb.
• Stand, walk, stoop, and squat throughout the workday; a stepstool may be used for some tasks.
• Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Pay

Starting pay is $14.00 per hour with two scheduled increases: $14.80 after 6 months and $15.50 after 1 year of continued employment. Rates are subject to change based on work location.

Schedule

The route services the following retail locations: 4065 S Redwood Rd, Salt Lake City, UT 84123; 3555 W 3500 S, West Valley City; 1585 W 3500 S, West Valley City, UT; 1825 W 4700 S, Taylorsville, UT; and 3601 South 2700 West, West Valley City, UT. Average weekly hours are 5 hours, increasing to about 9 hours per week around holidays. Flexible work scheduling is offered, with occasional weekend and holiday‑adjacent shifts.
