Part Time Merchandiser

American Greetings is a global leader in the Celebrations marketplace. As a Merchandiser you help people celebrate holidays, each other, and life’s special moments by displaying and maintaining inventory of greeting cards, gift‑wrap accessories, party goods, plush items, and more across various retail locations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Service stores on an assigned route, merchandising and organizing product orders.
• Display products within greeting‑card departments and other retail areas.
• Maintain organized back‑room areas and perform other inventory tasks as needed.
• Communicate with management about service questions or schedule concerns.
• Work in a fast‑paced retail environment using effective time‑management and organizational skills.
• Partner with retail store associates and management during daytime business hours.
• Provide occasional assistance with store resets, including minor fixture work, product assembly, relocation, or removal.
• Review and plan weekly service schedule and workload using a company‑issued tablet.
• Work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Access to reliable transportation (multiple retail locations per route).
• Access to reliable internet for receiving job information and updates.
• Technological competency – able to learn and use a company‑provided tablet.
• Availability for occasional weekends and the day before/after major holidays (e.g., Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas).

Physical Demands

• Work on sales floor and back‑stock room, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying cartons, merchandise, and fixtures up to 40 pounds.
• Stand, walk, stoop, and squat throughout the workday; use a stepstool as needed.
• Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Pay

Starting pay is $13.10 per hour with two scheduled increases: after 6 months the rate rises to $13.80, and after 1 year to $14.50. Rates are subject to change based on work location.

Schedule

The weekly average is 6 hours, increasing to about 15 hours per week around holidays. Ideal candidates are available during daytime hours, especially Monday mornings, and can work occasional weekends and extended hours before and after major holidays.
