Part Time Merchandiser

American Greetings is a global leader in the Celebrations marketplace. As a Merchandiser you will help people celebrate holidays, each other, and life’s special moments by displaying and maintaining inventory of greeting cards, gift‑wrap accessories, party goods, plush items, and more across multiple retail locations.

Pay

The starting pay is $13.50 per hour with two scheduled increases. After 6 months the rate rises to $14.30, and after 1 year it increases to $15.00. Rates are subject to change based on work location.

Schedule

The position averages 7 hours per week, increasing to about 16 hours per week during holiday periods. Work is primarily during daytime hours, especially Monday mornings, with occasional weekends and additional days before and after major holidays (e.g., Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas). The route serves the following locations:

Responsibilities

• Service stores on the assigned route, merchandising and organizing product orders.
• Display products within greeting‑card departments and other retail areas.
• Maintain organized back‑room areas and perform inventory tasks as needed.
• Communicate questions or concerns about service or schedules to management.
• Work in a fast‑paced retail environment using effective time‑management and organizational skills.
• Partner with retail store associates and management during daytime business hours.
• Provide additional availability for extended hours leading up to and after major holidays.
• Assist with store resets, including minor fixture work, product assembly, relocation, or removal.
• Review and plan weekly service schedule and workload using a company‑issued tablet.
• Work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lb with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Access to reliable transportation for multiple retail locations.
• Access to reliable internet for receiving critical job information and updates.
• Technological competency – able to learn and use a company‑provided tablet.
• Willingness to meet scheduling needs, including occasional weekends and holiday periods.

Physical Demands

• Work on sales floor and back‑stock rooms, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying cartons, merchandise, and fixtures up to 40 lb.
• Stand, walk, stoop, and squat throughout the workday; a stepstool may be used for some tasks.
