Part Time Merchandiser

About the role

American Greetings is a global leader in the celebrations marketplace. As a Merchandiser you will help people celebrate holidays, each other, and life’s special moments by displaying and maintaining inventory of greeting cards, gift‑wrap accessories, party goods, plush items, and more across various retail locations.

Responsibilities

• Service stores on your assigned route, including merchandising and organizing product orders.
• Display product within greeting‑card departments and other retail locations.
• Maintain an organized back‑room area and perform other inventory tasks as needed.
• Communicate with management about service or schedule questions or concerns.
• Work in a fast‑paced retail environment using effective time‑management and organizational skills.
• Partner with retail store associates and management during daytime business hours.
• Provide occasional assistance with store resets, including minor fixture work, product assembly, relocation, or removal.
• Review and plan your weekly service schedule and workload using a company‑issued tablet.
• Work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds (with or without reasonable accommodation).
• Access to reliable transportation for multiple retail locations.
• Access to reliable internet for receiving critical job information and updates.
• Technological competency – able to learn and use a company‑provided tablet.
• Availability for occasional weekends and the day before/after major holidays (e.g., Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas).
• Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, squat, and handle fixtures up to 40 pounds; a stepstool may be used for some tasks.
• No prior experience required; training will be provided.

Pay

Starting pay is $11.70 per hour. After 6 months of employment the rate increases to $12.40 per hour, and after 1 year of continued employment it increases to $13.00 per hour. Rates are subject to change based on work location.

Schedule

The route services the retail location at 325 E Spring St, Palestine, TX 75801‑2941. Average hours are 6 hours per week, with the possibility of increasing to an average of 8 hours per week around holidays. Flexible work scheduling is offered, with occasional weekend and holiday‑adjacent shifts as needed.
