Part Time Merchandiser

American Greetings is a global leader in the Celebrations marketplace. As a Merchandiser you help people celebrate holidays, each other, and life’s special moments by keeping greeting cards, gift‑wrap accessories, party goods, plush items, and more organized and stocked in retail locations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Service stores on your assigned route, merchandising and organizing product orders.
• Display product within greeting‑card departments and other retail areas.
• Maintain organized back‑room areas and perform other inventory tasks as needed.
• Communicate with management about service questions or schedule concerns.
• Work in a fast‑paced retail environment using effective time‑management and organizational skills.
• Partner with retail store associates and management during daytime business hours.
• Provide occasional assistance with store resets, including minor fixture work, product assembly, relocation, or removal.
• Review and plan your weekly service schedule and workload using a company‑issued tablet.
• Work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Access to reliable transportation (multiple retail locations per route).
• Access to reliable internet for receiving critical job information and updates.
• Technological competency – able to learn and use a company‑provided tablet.
• Availability for occasional weekends and the day before/after major holidays (e.g., Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas).

Physical Demands

• Work on sales floor and back‑stock rooms, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying cartons, merchandise, and fixtures up to 40 pounds.
• Stand, walk, stoop, and squat throughout the workday; a stepstool may be used for some tasks.
• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties.

Pay

The starting pay is $12.60 per hour with two scheduled increases during the first year. After 6 months the rate rises to $13.30, and after 1 year it increases to $14.00. Rates are subject to change based on work location.

Schedule

The weekly average is 6 hours, which may increase to an average of 14 hours per week around holidays. Flexible work scheduling is offered, with occasional weekend and holiday‑adjacent days as needed.
