Part-time Medical Assistant Instructor

Responsibilities

• Deliver class instruction according to an approved curriculum using accepted and effective teaching methods.
• Develop daily lesson plans; advise, remediate, and tutor students.
• Maintain current and accurate attendance and grade records.
• Remain current in the applicable program teaching field.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional growth activities, and two (2) in-service training sessions annually.
• Engage in college activities such as in-services, faculty meetings, student functions, graduation exercises, open houses, new student orientations, and advisory board meetings.
• Strive for student success by providing quality instruction that results in students’ achievement of academic goals and program requirements, retention of students, and preparation for entry-level positions in the healthcare field.

Requirements

• Three (3) years of occupational (i.e., practical) experience in the subject field in which you teach.
• Preferred: One (1) year of teaching experience in the subject areas taught or demonstrated prior training in instructional methodology and teaching skills from a formal teacher educational program or comparable training program.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Must be a graduate from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in the specialty field or subject area in which you teach.
• Current CMA (AAMA) or RMA (AMT) or other medical assistant credential issued by AAMA accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or AMT accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) required by local, state, and/or federal laws or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire date.
