Job Responsibilities
- Collect and document vital signs and medical information in the EHR
- Report abnormal labs and vital signs to nurse or physician
- Administer urine drug screens, collect samples, document results, and report abnormalities
- Obtain and process blood specimens as ordered by the physician
- Upload prescribed medications into the EHR for nurse review
- Run Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) reports and upload to EHR
- Prepare patients for examination, take vitals, and record health history
- Administer injections and medications as directed
- Perform routine specimen collection and testing
- Absorb and clean examination rooms and equipment
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and restock exam rooms
Administrative Duties
- Schedule appointments for patients, including those needing medication refills
- Report adverse medication effects to nursing staff
- Communicate pertinent patient care information to providers and nursing team
- Answer phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately
- Complete prior authorizations for medications and specialty services
- Follow up with providers regarding authorizations and documentation
- Communicate with pharmacies to clarify medication orders and refill requests
- Receive and direct phone calls, schedule appointments, and check in patients
- Obtain and update patient records; ensure all forms and consents are completed
- Check out patients, assist with referral processing, and arrange lab services
Specialty Services
- Receive training to assist with transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS)
- Receive training to support neuropsychological testing
Qualifications and Education
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited medical assistance certification program preferred
- Behavioral health experience preferred
- 1 year experience post certification preferred
- Active CPR Certification
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to always communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner
- Must be detail-oriented and highly organized
- Firm grasp on medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policies
- Knowledge of patient care and examination procedures
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times

- Salary: $23.00 - $25.00 / hour
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8AM-1PM
