About the role

Big Sandy Community & Technical College is seeking a Part-time Line Worker Instructor for its Hager Hill Campus. The successful candidate will train and develop potential line workers in the technical skills and safety protocols required for working on electrical power lines. This role involves delivering instructional materials, conducting hands-on training sessions, evaluating students’ performance, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Ideal candidates should have extensive experience as a line worker, strong communication skills, and the ability to mentor and guide students in a high-risk environment. A passion for safety and commitment to preparing the next generation of line workers is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person instruction to students in both theory and practice.

Requirements

• 5 years of relevant experience as a line worker.
• Understanding and experience with electrical power line safety requirements.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently while adapting to fast-paced, dynamic environments.
• Skilled in engaging and supporting students from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Training experience (preferred but not required).
