Part-Time Licensed Veterinary Technician
About the role
Ardsley Veterinary Associates is a progressive fast-paced 6 doctor general animal practice located in Ardsley, NY. We offer many services to provide the best comprehensive care to our patients including preventative care, surgery, urgent care, high speed dentistry, cold laser therapy, in-house diagnostics, digital full body and dental radiology and ultrasonography. We are located in a vibrant area of Westchester County, and not too far from New York City. Our practice offers board-certified cardiologist, board-certified internist, and board-certified surgeons that are available for consultation and surgery procedures.
Responsibilities
- Animal restraint
- Triage of incoming patients
- Collection and analysis of lab samples
- Diagnostic imaging
- Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability
- Administration of medications
- Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
- Surgical preparation and assistance
- Anesthetic management
Requirements
- A licensed veterinary technician, 1+ years professional experience is preferred but not required.
- We are currently open to training a new grad or someone who is eligible and waiting to take the VTNE!

- Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work
- Some Saturday shift availability
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely
- Interpret medical records and record client history accurately
- Knowledge in preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow
- Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner
- Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin
- Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs, positioning for dental radiographs are a plus
- Proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring
- A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset
- Able to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current license to practice veterinary technology in the state of New York
- Experience in a veterinary setting preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift and move patients as needed

Pay
Pay range: $28 - 32/hr. depending on experience and licensure
Schedule
Our Hours Of Operation Are Mon - Fri: 8:30 am - 6 pm
Sat: 8:30 am - 2 pm (open every other Saturday)
We are closed on Sundays
