Part-Time Licensed Psychologist For Neurodivergent Wellness and Mental Health Services
About the role
Mental Health America of Los Angeles (MHALA) is a nonprofit mental health agency committed to ensuring that people with mental health needs have meaningful, healthy lives in their communities. MHALA supports over 19,000 low-income and no-income individuals annually through integrated services in mental and physical healthcare, homelessness and housing, supported employment, and wellness and financial services. Special programs are offered for Veterans and transition-age youth.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychological assessment and testing to outpatient mental health program participants, focusing on Neurodivergent conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD.
- Develop a recommended treatment plan and disposition for each participant assessed.
- Present findings and outcomes from completed assessments at team meetings and provide feedback to the team to improve participant needs.
- Report and assist with tracking outcomes to the Director for grant reporting.
- Document all clinical services in the Electronic Health Record as required by LA County Department of Mental Health.
- Provide trainings as needed on topics that will assist MHALA staff in better serving the needs of the Neurodivergent population.
Requirements
- Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the State of California.
- Clinical experience working with adults with Neurodivergent conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD, and experience with other psychiatric disorders including Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, PTSD, and Psychotic Disorders.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to effectively present information, both verbally and in writing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
- Understanding of confidentiality, HIPAA, and other legal and ethical guidelines affecting evaluation and compliance.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle highly sensitive information with discretion.
- Driving with a current class C driver's license, a vehicle for transportation, proof of valid automobile insurance, and the ability to be insured by MHALA’s liability insurance are conditions of employment.
- TB clearance and re-testing every year are conditions of continued employment.
