Responsibilities
- Provide direct, high-quality individual and group counseling services to students, as mandated by their Individualized Education Service Programs/Individualized Education Programs (IESP/IEP).
- Address a comprehensive range of social, emotional, and behavioral concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and complex psychological conditions.
- Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to inform treatment planning and educational recommendations.
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans utilizing various therapeutic modalities tailored to the unique developmental and cultural needs of each student.
- Collaborate closely with parents, teachers, school administrators, and other mental health professionals to create a holistic and supportive learning environment.
- Maintain meticulous and timely documentation of all services, progress, and outcomes in accordance with DOE regulations, HIPAA requirements, and Knowledge Road standards.
- Actively participate in IESP/IEP meetings, offering expert psychological insights and recommendations to promote student progress and educational planning.
Qualifications
- NYS license as a Licensed Psychologist.
- Doctoral degree in Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) from an APA-accredited program.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience providing psychological services for children and adolescents.
- Proficiency with electronic documentation systems and teletherapy platforms.
- NYC DOE fingerprinting and vendor status required or willingness to obtain prior to start date.
- PREFERRED: Experience in a school-based setting or educational environment. Specialized training in child and adolescent therapy modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, play therapy, family therapy). Experience with psychological assessments and testing.
