Part Time Licensed Dosing Nurse (LPN - 24 hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Supply and administer medication pursuant to physician order and record dosage administered in the medical record.
• Conduct a daily sight and count inventory of the medication supply and maintain absolute accuracy in accounting for medication supplied or administered.
• Collect fees and perform daily cash reconciliation in the absence of a cashier.
• Ensure proper disposal of medical waste through established protocols.
• Observe patient demeanor prior to dosing and contact other centers to verify dosages as needed.
• Administer appropriate lab tests, including patient vital signs, TB tests when required, and collect data for review by the Medical Director or RN.
• Schedule and screen patients to be seen by the Medical Director and assist in collecting data for history and physical exams.
• Maintain absolute control, tracking, and confidentiality of all patient medical paperwork.
• Actively participate in CARF preparation and state audit processes.
• Interface with the public and patients by answering phones, greeting visitors, and monitoring patient activities while on center premises.

Requirements

• Active LPN license in the state of Indiana or a multi-state compact license.
• Understanding of opiate addiction, medical terminology, general nursing knowledge, and techniques.
• Basic mathematics skills and computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Basic typing skills.
• Minimum of 1-year direct patient contact experience; prior clinical environment experience is helpful.
