Part Time Licensed Dosing Nurse (LPN - 15 to 20 hours per week)

About the role

Work under the direction and supervision of our Medical Director or Registered Nurse and Program Director in a collaborative effort to provide the best care and support to patients at an outpatient treatment center specializing in Opioid Use Disorder (OUD). Engage directly with patients, offering stellar service during challenging times.

Responsibilities

• Supply and administer medication pursuant to physician order and record dosage in the medical record.
• Conduct daily sight and count inventory of medication supply; maintain absolute accuracy in accounting.
• Collect fees and perform daily cash reconciliation in the absence of a cashier.
• Ensure proper disposal of medical waste through established protocols.
• Observe patient demeanor prior to dosing; contact other centers to verify dosages as needed.
• Administer lab tests as required, including patient vital signs, TB tests, and collect data for review by the Medical Director or RN.
• Schedule and screen patients for Medical Director appointments; assist in collecting data for history and physical exams.
• Maintain control, tracking, and confidentiality of all patient medical paperwork.
• Actively participate in CARF preparation and state audit processes.
• Interface with the public and patients by answering phones, greeting visitors, and monitoring patient activities on center premises.

Requirements

• Active LPN license in the state of South Carolina or a multi-state compact license.
• Hold a Pharm Tech license or be willing to obtain it before hiring.
• Understanding of opiate addiction, medical terminology, general nursing knowledge, and techniques.
• Basic mathematics skills and computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Basic typing skills.
• Minimum of 1 year of direct patient contact; prior clinical environment experience is helpful.
