Part Time Level II Special Education Paraprofessional - Parowan Elementary

About the role

Parowan Elementary School is seeking a Part-Time Level II Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with disabilities under the direction of the Special Education Teacher. This position plays a key role in helping students develop college and career readiness by building knowledge, skills, and relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to students and student groups to reinforce learning activities.
• Assist in observing and recording behavior patterns; implement behavior management plans.
• Support certified educators with the presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises.
• Assist with procedures related to physical and medical needs, including lifting and supporting students, changing protective clothing, and operating adaptive equipment (e.g., wheelchairs).
• Depending on position, assist students with self-care techniques, including toilet training, bathing, personal cleanliness, diapering, feeding, and other self-help skills.
• Participate in the development, maintenance, and execution of classroom management systems.
• Guide students in working and interacting harmoniously with peers.
• Supervise students in all areas of the school, including during lunch hour.
• Operate office equipment such as computers, copy machines, and other technology.
• Monitor students inside and outside the building.
• Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance and job performance.

Requirements

• Basic computer knowledge, including familiarity with Google Docs and frequent email use.
• Willingness to learn and use all required computer systems and software.

Schedule

This is a part-time position working 17.5 hours per week.
