Part-Time Lecturer Pool - Architecture (AY 26/27)

About the role

The Architecture Department seeks innovative and energetic applicants for part-time lecturer positions in a range of areas listed below. Multiple positions are available for the 2026-2027 academic year for fall semester beginning August 17, 2026, and spring semester beginning January 22, 2027. The majority of available positions are on the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo campus, but applications are also being accepted for off-campus programs in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Applicants that are only applying for San Francisco or Los Angeles must clearly indicate this in their cover letter.

Responsibilities

• Teach initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department.

• Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. As of July 2024, the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are: Lecturer A: $5,507-$6,677 Lecturer B: $6,221-$13,224 Lecturer C: $6,825-$14,523 Lecturer D: $8,593-$15,211
• Required Qualifications Professional degree in architecture (accredited B. Arch., M. Arch. or D. Arch.); eligibility for licensure; professional experience. College-level teaching experience required or ability to fulfill a specific instructional need in the department.
• Preferred Qualifications Masters or post-professional degree; relevant college level teaching experience; body of relevant professional and/or scholarly work, professional licensure. Experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment.
