Part-Time Lecturer - Cybersecurity Workforce Development
About the role
The University of Louisville (UofL) seeks Information Technology Practitioners with cybersecurity experience to teach in the NSA Cybersecurity Workforce Certificate Program.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate asynchronous online instruction by guiding students through course content, activities, and assessments
- Provide timely feedback, academic support, and clarification to students via the learning management system
- Maintain accurate course records, grades, and required documentation in accordance with university policies
- Monitor student progress and engagement, intervening as appropriate to support successful course completion
- Collaborate with program leadership to ensure instructional quality, curriculum alignment, and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in CIS, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current, relevant CompTIA certification(s) aligned with the curriculum being instructed (A+, Network+, Cloud+, Security+, PenTest+)
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and learning management systems
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in CIS, Computer Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Industry experience in cybersecurity or information technology preferred
- Prior online or asynchronous teaching or training experience preferred
- Experience with workforce education, certification, or credential-based programs preferred
