Part Time LBS1 Instructor - 1-to-1 Education

About the role

Brightmont Academy is seeking a Part‑Time Special Education Instructor to provide one‑to‑one instruction for students in grades 1‑12. The instructor will use the provided APEX Learning curriculum and implement accommodations and modifications based on each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). The position focuses solely on classroom instruction; a case manager handles the bulk of administrative duties.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one‑on‑one lessons tailored to each student’s unique needs and learning style.
• Apply the APEX Learning curriculum while providing required accommodations and modifications per the IEP.
• Use a gradual‑release approach to guide students toward mastery and confidence.
• Collaborate with the case manager for any necessary student support, without handling lesson planning, parent conferences, or grading.
• Participate in professional development opportunities offered by Brightmont Academy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• LBS1 certification.
• Experience working with students in ASD, ED, and/or SLD programs.
• Patience and empathy for diverse learning needs.
• Passion for teaching and sharing subject knowledge.
• Proficiency with G‑Suite and Learning Management Software (LMS).
• Ability to provide fingerprints (AZ, WA only) and pass a federal background check.

Pay

$30‑40 per hour.
