Part-Time Kidtown/ChildCare Associate

About the role

Midtown is searching for a Part-Time, Year-Around, KidTown/Child Care Associate to join their world-class team. Required weekly shifts are Monday 2pm-8pm and Wednesday 2pm-8pm.

Responsibilities

• Inspire even the youngest members through movement, community, and personal attention.
• Create an environment of movement-based fun in a safe and comfortable setting.
• Lead activities such as arts and crafts, story time, and games.
• Communicate both positive and negative behaviors to parents at pick-up.
• Create relationships with families.
• Keep the space clean, free of germs and messes to ensure the well-being of staff and children.
• Strategize with leadership to constantly improve KidTown and Varsity Club.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience working with children in an educationally supportive environment.
• Comfortable with children ages 8 weeks up to 15 years old.
• Takes initiative and ownership to a position and leads youth members with confidence and care.
• Possesses outstanding verbal communication skills with children and adults.
• Has patience and is outgoing and friendly.
• Displays high energy levels and can keep children moving in a variety of activities.
• Willing to grow with the changing needs of members and our space.
• Maintains a positive attitude and enjoys working with children.

Qualifications

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Able to move from seated to standing position quickly to attend to child’s needs.

Skills

• Child CPR, First Aid & AED certification (Midtown provides this training for Associates).
