Part-Time Janitor - Simms Store

About the role

The Janitor, Retail is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming retail store. This role ensures every space meets the Goodwill of Colorado retail stores' standards of hygiene and presentation while providing courteous customer services.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect assigned retail store or outlet’s restrooms, employee brake area, and public areas.
• Sweep and mop floors to ensure slip, trip, and falls hazards are removed timely.
• Vacuum carpets, steam-clean carpets/rugs, dust furniture, polish fixtures, and remove marks/stains from walls and other surfaces.
• Clean and dust store fixtures as required.
• Remove trash from offices, restrooms, and other areas in and around the assigned retail store.
• Adhere to all safety protocols (Goodwill and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)) for proper chemical use and waste disposal.
• Direct customers to the appropriate department or team member for assistance.
• Report missing or damaged items and report maintenance needs immediately.
• Contribute to a safe working environment for self, customers, and fellow employees.
• Escalate issues or concerns to store management team in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• One (1) year of previous custodial experience is preferred.
• Must be able to read and comprehend cleaning solution directions on how to use and properly dispose of.
• Ability to adhere to all safety protocols for Goodwill and OSHA for proper chemical use and waste disposal.
• Able to withstand prolonged standing, bending, and lifting up to eight (8) hours per day.
• Able to work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime as necessary.
• Able to effectively communicate with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.

Pay

$16.45/hr

Schedule

Open 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sundays.
