Part-time Janitor at Jubilee Village

About the role

Outreach is a Christian community service organization providing counseling, case management, youth development, older adult service, and community development. For 50 years, Outreach has changed the lives of thousands of individuals, children, youth, and families in DuPage County, IL. The Part-Time Janitor position is located at Jubilee Village 1 + 2 in Carol Stream, working 10‑12 hours per week to maintain clean, sanitary, and welcoming facilities for transitional housing residents, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning throughout Jubilee Village 1 and 2, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, disinfecting surfaces, cleaning glass, and emptying trash.
• Clean and maintain common areas, offices, laundry rooms, childcare spaces, and other shared areas.
• Deep clean apartments following resident move‑outs to prepare units for new tenants.
• Assist with annual steam cleaning of common‑area carpets in coordination with Transitional Housing leadership.
• Help maintain building safety and security while completing cleaning responsibilities.
• Identify and report facility repairs or maintenance concerns to the Executive Director of Transitional Housing.
• Interact with residents, clients, staff, and visitors in a respectful, positive, and professional manner.

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to safely handle and use commercial cleaning products.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and after‑hours as needed.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year of professional cleaning experience required.
• Dependable and able to work independently.
• Ability to follow cleaning procedures and instructions.
• Ability to consistently maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
• Bilingual ability preferred but not required.
