About the role

Under administrative leadership, part-time faculty support the visions, missions, and values of the colleges and District. Responsibilities include classroom instruction, student evaluation, curriculum development, student advising, professional development, and assignment-specific tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in hospitality law, business, and management
  • Teach lecture and laboratory sections
  • Evaluate and advise students
  • Develop curricula and maintain department standards
  • Recruit and participate in student retention efforts
  • Serve on committees
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Master’s in business, business management, business administration, accountancy, finance, marketing, or business education OR
  • Bachelor’s in any of the above AND Master’s in economics, personnel management, public administration, or JD/LL.B. degree OR
  • Bachelor’s in economics with a business emphasis AND Master’s in personnel management, public administration, or JD/LL.B. degree OR
  • The equivalent (Equivalency Determination Form required if applying under equivalency)
  • 18 graduate semester hours in Business Law
  • Experience with applied learning methodologies
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students of diverse skill levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Certification to teach online

Working Conditions

Faculty positions may require long periods of standing and walking in a typical classroom setting. Specific conditions vary by subject taught.

Pay

Starting salary range: $70.84 - $86.11 per hour (Class II, step 1 to Class VI, step 1) based on the Adjunct, Overload and Substitute Salary Schedule. View the complete salary schedule.
