Part-Time Instructional Faculty - 9th Grade Seminar (Male Course)

Role Summary

A 9th Grade Seminar (Male Course) Faculty member at Valor Christian High School supports and mentors students through every aspect of their transition to Valor, playing a vital role in their academic and spiritual development while equipping them with the skills needed to thrive in high school.

• Provide a learning environment and classroom management style built upon mutual respect and conducive to student learning
• Collaborate with the 9th Grade Seminar Team to refine the curriculum and establish the necessary foundational and academic skills for students to be successful at Valor Christian
• Coordinate with 9th Grade Teachers in core subjects to promote a cohesive learning culture and support student outcomes in each subject area

• Demonstrate a love for students and a desire to personally invest in their spiritual, emotional, and social maturation
• Invest in the lives of students through Life Groups, senior prayer partners, and other mentorship opportunities

• Engage in ongoing communication and collaboration with Valor Christian team members in order to strengthen student performance and support

• Assume collaborative responsibility for Operating Plan Goals and Fiscal stewardship

• Participate in Valor Team meetings, Chapel and weekly meetings with Team/Supervisor

Education, Experience, And Required Competencies

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Advanced degree in a related area is preferred
• Solid biblical and theological foundation and understanding
• High school teaching experience preferred

Physical Demands

• Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral/depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

Work Environment

• Varying noise levels
• Classroom, office, and outdoor events

A: Student-facing position. Traditional school calendar. August - May.

Part-Time (Expected 60%), Exempt (Varied hours based on rotating color block schedule)
