Part-Time Information Center Representative II

About the role

The State of Vermont Information Center Division is seeking a motivated, self‑starting individual with strong interpersonal skills to promote Vermont and welcome visitors. The position is based at the Lyndonville Information Center and the Derby Line Welcome Center, which together serve over 100,000 visitors annually.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and provide information
• Read maps and assist with navigation
• Maintain records
• Perform custodial duties: hourly cleaning of restrooms, mopping, snow removal (shoveling and/or snowblower)
• Lift up to 50 pounds as needed
• Use Microsoft Office software
• Work independently, be self‑starting, highly motivated, task‑oriented, and detail‑oriented
• Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of work experience that includes customer service

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write
• Ability to read maps and complete internet searches
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook e‑mail
• Experience in tourism, hospitality, recreation, marketing, public relations, or related fields (preferred)

Schedule

• Lyndonville Information Center (I‑91 Southbound): Fridays and Saturdays, 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
• Derby Line Welcome Center (I‑91 Southbound): Sundays and Mondays, 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
