About the role

We are seeking a talented and professional Hairdresser to join our team at Barton House, a reputable Personal Care Facility specializing in memory impairments, including Alzheimer's. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for enhancing clients' beauty and confidence through expert hair styling and grooming services.

Responsibilities

• Provide a wide range of hair services including cutting, coloring, styling (e.g., wash-and-sets) tailored to client preferences
• Develop a thorough understanding of each resident's hair care needs and preferences
• Maintain a comfortable, relaxing, and compassionate experience for all residents, including those with mobility challenges
• Ensure high standards of sanitation and hygiene in accordance with industry regulations

Requirements

• Valid cosmetology or barbering license with experience in hair styling and related services
• Proficiency in hair coloring techniques and knowledge of color theory
• Experience with senior clients is strongly preferred
• Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills
• A strong understanding of sanitation practices within a personal care environment
