About the role

We are seeking a self-motivated professional Hotel Host to join our opening team at a newly built Hyatt Place hotel in Downtown Gainesville. The position involves greeting guests, preparing welcome amenities, handling cash, maintaining a clean front desk, resolving guest complaints, and assisting with food and beverage operations.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests and provide excellent service
  • Prepare and assemble welcome amenities
  • Ensure all cash drops are handled according to proper procedures
  • Maintain a clean and organized front desk area
  • Handle confidential guest information professionally
  • Resolve guest complaints promptly
  • Work with food & beverage operations including bartending and barista duties
  • Create a welcoming, helpful, and exceptional guest experience
  • Manage the Hotel Host Stand, Bakery Café, Guest Kitchen, guest check-in/check-out, and servicing of meeting rooms

Requirements

  • Previous guest service experience
  • Effective communication skills
  • Proficiency in computer applications
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Preferred previous experience in a hotel or restaurant customer service role
  • Strong organization and computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Outgoing personality and self-starter attitude
  • Schedule flexibility for AM/PM shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong command of the English language (speaking, reading, and writing)
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift, pull, and push moderate to heavy weights
  • Must be at least 18 years old
