Part-Time Greenhouse Research Support Assistant - Brunharo-Applied Weed Physiology Lab

About the role

The Department of Plant Science Applied Weed Physiology Lab in the College of Agricultural Sciences is seeking a Part‑Time Student Technical Assistant. This is a part‑time position (up to 20 hours per week during academic terms and up to 40 hours per week during academic breaks) supporting research activities in the greenhouse, laboratory, and field.

Responsibilities

• Clean seed lots
• Measure plant biomass
• Collect and enter data
• Perform routine to semi‑skilled technical tasks in support of research
• Work in greenhouse, laboratory, and field settings
• Report initially to the Principal Investigator, Lab Technician, and other group members
• Potential to develop independent research projects based on performance

Requirements

• Undergraduate student (punctual, responsible, talented, motivated, team worker)
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle as part of job duties
• Successful completion of background check(s) and motor vehicle records check per University policy

Schedule

Part‑time: maximum 20 hours per week during academic terms; maximum 40 hours per week during academic breaks.
