Part Time Floorman (NARA II) Schedule M:F 6pm - 10pm
Job Summary
EMCOR Government Services is seeking a part-time Floor Specialist at our National Archives and Records Administration (NARA II) project. This is a SEIU, Local 32BJ-represented position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing and buffing the floor surfaces of commercial buildings.
- Perform floor maintenance/care activities on various floor surfaces such as terrazzo, marble, granite, tile, other hard surfaces, hardwood, and carpet.
- Cleaning, maintaining, and storing equipment and PPE proficiently.
- Keeping an inventory of floor areas, and scheduling cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Making measurements of chemicals correctly.
- Following all health and safety regulations.
- Following proper cleaning procedures and safety guidelines.
- Notifying supervisor of any maintenance or repair needs.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance or commercial cleaning preferred.
- Proven working experience as a janitor or floor technician (2 yr experience).
- Follow all health and safety regulations.
- Familiarity with SDS.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents in English.
- Ability to communicate with supervisors and co-workers.
- Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and handle.
- Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds in order to clean work areas and handle supplies and equipment.
- Work in conditions that will create dirt and dust.
