About the role
This position assists and reviews UPS Small Package dispatch activity to ensure timely and proficient service. The role involves assisting with dispatch planning and ensuring service, safety, and cost goals are met. Coordination with others ensures dispatch plans are executed efficiently, and adequate staffing and equipment levels are maintained for transportation needs. The position oversees load/tractor planning and assignments, monitors load movement, and tracks equipment condition. It also involves reviewing, analyzing, and tracking various dispatch and service reports and schedules to create efficient dispatch plans, verify service levels, address performance issues, and incorporate modifications. Additionally, this role oversees yard operations and coordinates drivers with load volume, ensuring trailers are in the correct locations and are loaded or empty as planned.
Responsibilities
- Reviews driver hours to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Conducts hazardous materials audits.
- Reviews safety reports.
- Verifies appropriate driver uniforms and utilization of safe work methods.
- Determines employee training needs to produce continuous development plans.
- Conducts performance evaluations and resolves individual and group performance issues.
Requirements
- Must be willing to work flexible shift hours and on the weekends.
- Experience supervising employees (Preferred).
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
Pay
$26.20 per hour.
