About the role
The Department of Psychology is seeking a part-time instructor to teach PSY 383 Laboratory in Health Psychology during the Fall semester beginning August 2026, 2026 (3 credits).Responsibilities
As part of your teaching assignment as a Part-time Instructor, your duties will include the following:- Developing and/or updating a class syllabus.
- Ordering the appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date.
- Preparing lectures, projects or other student assignments.
- Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours of two hours per week.
- Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the class.
- Meting all designated class periods. If you are unable to meet with your class due to illness or emergency, you should exercise your best effort to reschedule the class or to obtain a substitute. You must also notify the department chair or their designated contact of your absence and of your plan to cover the class.
- Working with the academic unit to maintain student learning outcomes.
- Submitting completed final grades according to University regulations.
- Grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
- Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
- Completing all other course-related duties as outlined by your department’s policies for part-time instructors.
