Part-time Faculty Positions in Engineering Technology (Welding)

About the role

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time faculty positions in the Department of Engineering Technology for the academic year 2026-2027. These positions are on an as needed, semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with credentials. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching undergraduate courses in the mechanical engineering technology program (i.e. welding and fabrication for engineers and/or corresponding labs)

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of exceptional professional experience related to the courses being taught.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of AWS welding symbology (Interpretation and application).
  • Knowledge of destructive and non-destructive welding tests.
  • Knowledge and ability to teach students (hands-on) basic SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW exercises.
  • Knowledge of general fabrication processes including forming, shearing, punching, fixturing.
  • An earned bachelors, masters or doctoral degree, or its foreign equivalent, in engineering or closely related field.
  • Certified SolidWorks Professional Certification or better.
  • Expertise in mechanics, machining, and/or manufacturing is a plus.
  • Professional Engineering license.
  • Significant relevant work experience.
  • College level teaching, and online teaching.
