Key Responsibilities
- Teach a variety of paralegal and legal specialty courses in accordance with approved curriculum and course objectives, in both on-campus and online learning environments.
- Demonstrate proficiency with online learning platforms and instructional technology.
- Develop and deliver engaging instructional activities designed to achieve stated learning outcomes across multiple delivery formats.
- Prepare and maintain course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, assessments, and instructional handouts, ensuring accessibility and alignment with course standards.
- Evaluate and grade student coursework, including assignments, projects, papers, examinations, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and other required documentation; submit reports and materials by established deadlines.
- Provide academic support to students through office hours (virtual and/or in-person), email communication, and scheduled appointments.
- Participate in required meetings with division faculty, related to instructional responsibilities, professional development, and program assessment.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited institution
- Demonstrated professional experience in the legal field
- Prior teaching experience at the postsecondary level preferred
- Familiarity with online course delivery methods and learning management systems (LMS)
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
