Part Time Faculty Interest Pool - Dealer Service Technology

Portland Community College is accepting applications for Part-Time Faculty assignments in Dealer Service Technology at the Rock Creek Campus. The Department will review applications in this pool as the need arises for new part-time faculty in this area throughout the academic year. Your application may be considered for substitute assignments as well as full term class assignments.

About the role

Portland Community College is seeking part-time faculty to teach courses in the Dealer Service Technology program. Learn more about the program here. Qualifications

• AAS or Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in diesel service or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Caterpillar-specific certification in all areas of instruction is required within the first year of hire for full-time faculty.
• Five years of recent diesel service experience is required.
• Recent experience teaching at the college level, industry trainer experience, or a combination of full-time equivalent teaching at the college level and industry trainer experience may be substituted, year for year, for recent diesel service experience.

Requirements

• Official transcripts must be submitted within two weeks of the offer date for degrees required in the stated Instructor Qualifications.
• Instructors must have earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited U.S. institution or a foreign institution with equivalent accreditation.
• Instructors with credentials from other countries must have their transcripts evaluated by agencies with good standing in the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.

Pay

Newly hired Part-Time Faculty at PCC generally start at Step 1 of the current salary schedule. Hourly rates are determined based on the type of course taught (Lecture, Lab, or Lecture/Lab). For more information, review the Part-time Faculty Salary Schedule.
