Responsibilities

  • Introduce a clear, repeatable method of dialect acquisition (e.g., phonetic analysis, sound changes, music and rhythm of speech, primary source research) suited to production work
  • Guide students through a diverse range of heightened and poetic texts, including verse drama, classical and contemporary poetry, and texts from varied cultural traditions
  • Develop and maintain a syllabus, learning outcomes, and assessment methods consistent with departmental and University standards
  • Give students regular individual feedback and assess their progress through performance work, written work, and other assignments

  • Submit grades and required course documents on time
  • Present instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course
  • Meet all designated class periods

  • Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner
  • Provide departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations
  • Build a positive rapport with students and other faculty
